In case you’ve not been following along.
I’m trying to shame atheists into making their groups and blogs private.
It’s a simple plan.
- Copy atheist commentary.
- Paste atheist commentary word for word.
- Highlight the dumbness with my own borderline satirical comments.
That’s it.
I let them do all the heavy lifting.
So far, it’s been wildly successful.

Putting in a bid that “I’m not at war with atheists. I’m at war with bad ideas.” be made a T-shirt too.
I’m not convinced that they are capable of experiencing shame.
We will find out!
I am so saving up for a bunch of those “Missionary of Mischief” tee-shirts. 🙂
Good. They are going to be expensive.
The “Mental/Linguistic Gymnastics” accusations are always entertaining and frustrating at the same time. It’s inane, because this statement almost always stands alone as a handwave to avoid defining terms or answering an argument (that doesn’t count as evidence apparently, anyway). it would be one thing if the accuser (the Satan, for all the amateur Greek/Hebrew researchers ^_-) would offer some explanation as to what they even mean by gymnastics, but alas… that does not happen.
Good response John – if only you could be tolerated enough to not get the banhammer ^_^.
The banhammer indicates the effectiveness of my arguments. If I was as pathetically impotent as they purport me to be, they would happily allow me to keep talking.
I love the fact that since they can’t shout you down or have you kneel at their altar of intelligent sounding arguments that make no logical sense they simply ban you and then talk about you behind your back. Never answering any question put to them. I say keep going John, keep the pressure on them to give a logical or even scientific reason for their belief system, even though they don’t call it that.
As far as I can tell, you never responded to the accusation of lying on your entry questions. I would like to hear your answer to that point.
I was never told where I lied. I’m happy to address the accusation but it needs to be specified.
Okay, thanks. : )
I get that atheists think we are crazy, ignorant, blind robots to a “non-existent” being in the sky, and that gives them the right to dismiss and mock us. I mean, if you thought someone was truly crazy or stupid, would you give their “ramblings” much thought? Still, the way many atheists seem to hear “Christian” and think “butt of the joke” doesn’t say much about their arguments. So they think we are stupid. Big deal. I would rather have a discussion about what each side believes, even if we walk away unchanged in the end. For atheists like that, it should be safe to say that they are not genuinely curious. They really don’t care about understanding. They are fine with where they are at, and they are happy mocking the uneducated. **sigh** Do they not see the irony there?!
I’ve heard on you say on you podcast, John, that you have had a long history of talking with these people. I’m trusting that you have taking the “nicer” approach and asked genuine questions, so I’m not going to criticize how you are handling things now. I do have one question though: Is “shaming the atheists into going private” for your benefit, ours or theirs?
I’ll let JB answer the question put to him regarding why he’s shaming the atheists…
I just wanted to agree that–yes–JB’s relationship with several of these non-believers has gone on for over two years. If you’re interested in seeing the first comments/”conversation” that took place with “The Recovering Know-It-All” (KIA), you can click this link: https://johnbranyan.com/everyones-got-religion
Holy crap. That post has Ark saying that he cares about definitions! That is gold. In recent months when I’ve asked about definitions, it’s always been something along the lines of “Just use the common understanding – It’s not my job to define the word.”
This was nice. ^_^
It’s almost hard to imagine a time before we knew Ark was a broken record, eh? When we thought he was sincere?
But there you have it: March 2016. 🙂
LOL – Back then, Pastor Mike was already an expert at pretending to be interested in exchanging ideas. The instant he was given a response, he dismissed it as “two different questions”.
A jellyfish has more backbone than KIA.
That reminds me: has he left any more comments on Hulbert’s blog?
I doubt it.
Wow….great answers to some pretty typical questions! Ark seemed to ask questions just so that he could correct JB with the usual “Well, actually…..this is where your God really came from”. Kinda amusing when he threw up his hands as “just the messenger” when his points were disagreed with. Although this was a very mild discussion, I could already sense that Ark wasn’t going to be an easy person to contradict.
Maybe JB should take some of these old conversations and re-comment on them.
Well, Ark is not welcome to comment any more until he admits he lied (or provides a link he insisted he has, to a comment that he accused JB of leaving anonymously). Long story, I guess.
But there are literally thousands of comments after those, involving Ark and John Zande and Tildeb and Carmen and KIA and at least a half dozen other Atheists who no longer bother commenting here because we require that THEY defend THEIR beliefs every once in awhile.
By the fall of 2016, we knew this cast of characters well enough for JB to write this post: https://johnbranyan.com/meet-the-heathens/
They are welcome to return with answers to our questions any time. (All of them still read.) But there’s no reason to go comment on old posts. 🙂
Ark is enjoying his banned status because he gets to play the martyred intellect who has overwhelmed us with his brilliance. He chose to be banned. Practically begged for it.
Most of the atheists don’t comment here anymore BECAUSE of our tolerance. They know their comments will be allowed to stand, unedited, for anyone to read. That’s a terrifying proposition for people who regularly say stupid things.
Fair enough…..I guess what matters is pointing out their responses now rather than focusing on their “arguments” then. They seem to be showing their true intentions now as apposed to hiding behind fake sincerity.
I agree completely.
People sometimes say “the Internet isn’t real” because of how angry and hateful conversations become.
But I think the opposite is true: I think the Atheists hide behind anonymous profiles and then they feel comfortable showing who they REALLY are.
I hope at some point they will shock THEMSELVES with their own horribleness and fall to their knees in repentance. But, even if they don’t, they serve as a warning to Believers about what godlessness does to the human mind.
I’d like to advocate for Ark’s release. He can be infuriating, but I don’t think banning him is A) good for the blog or B) good for Ark. Granted, I understand the need for follow-through, but extending a 491st instance of forgiveness wouldn’t be horrible I don’t think ^_^.
How important is it for Christians to do what we say we’re going to do?
I didn’t instate this particular ban.
I was responsible the last time Ark was locked in spam, because he wouldn’t admit that his comments contain order/meaning. (I told him there was no reason for anyone else to read his comments, if they’re meaningless–so they would go to the trash, along with all the other meaningless comments generated at random by machines.) Finally, Ark agreed that language–particularly HIS language–is evidence there is order and meaning in the Universe, and he was given commenting privileges again.
In my opinion, Dad was a little abrupt the day he decided to ban Ark for lying. I also advocated for his release briefly because I don’t think he was lying. I think he REALLY DID have a link to a comment that he thought was my dad’s… Because all of the usual characters are obsessed with this idea that we create fake profiles and additional avatars, to make it look like more people read our blog. (We don’t.) Plus, even if he WAS lying about the anonymous commenter who he thought was Dad–lying hasn’t been a reason to ban Atheists in the past!
Maybe he was just cranky that day. It happens sometimes. Haha.
But it’s Dad’s blog, so his call. 🙂
He didn’t produce the link.
I don’t care if the link was bogus.
The point was, Ark was using the promise of that link to goad me into answering his insipid question (for the millionth time). He lied about having a comment posted under an alias.
I may have been cranky that day. I don’t remember. But I’m in good spirits today and can say with complete honesty that I don’t miss Arkenatan’s stupid comments. Not one little bit. If you miss him so much, go visit him: https://attaleuntold.wordpress.com/
Haha, no.
No, no, no thank you.
I believe he really did think you were stalking him with fake profiles. But that doesn’t mean I miss him! 🙂
I don’t doubt that he sincerely believed I was posting under an alias. I doubt that there was any basis for that belief. He made an accusation and I denied it so he went too far and claimed to have “proof” to back up his claim.
There are plenty of other nitwits on the internet.
Honestly.
I HOPE he doesn’t admit his lie. If he does, I’ll have to keep my word and reinstate his commenting privilege.
He doesn’t really need to make another comment ever again. We already have SIX PAGES of his statements, JUST COUNTING THE ONES WHICH CONTAIN The F-WORD.
Lol.
Yeah, I’m not much for commenting on pictures… I check there every once in awhile, but usually the half-interesting stuff is a week or two old after I check and I don’t want to fill my feed with the routine stuff he’s got there.
Actually, I’m really a fake profile made by Ark, using a proxy server in the US, trying to get my original account unbanned. ^_^
But seriously, I understand the ban and the follow through – just casting my zero votes for it. ^_^
If Ark could hold character this long, I would have to rethink everything I believe about him. Lol.
If you’d like me to link you to more old conversations, so you can get your fix, I can do that…
Here’s the one where I shared chunks of my testimony and actually thought we might be making progress…
https://johnbranyan.com/christians-are-learning-disabled
This is where you shared some personal stuff about yourself which he used to taunt and belittle you in future conversations, right?
Yes.
He believed what I said about being suicidal a few years ago, but he chose not to believe what I said about being cured.
That’s because personal experience can’t be trusted unless it affirms atheism.
BTW: Nice job commenting over at KIA’s place today.
I noticed you were treated with the same basic decency that they afford everyone who says stuff they don’t understand.
I may clip that dialogue and turn it into a future post. I’ll refer people to it when they tell me I’d be more successful if I was nicer. 🙂
Hehe, as I’ve said before, I’m happy to serve as any kind of example. Good, bad, or ugly.
The heathen do not differentiate between theists. They think of you and I as the same person. They completely ignore your respectful, gentle tone since theists are ALL smug, rude, brainwashed liars like me.
Whoops. I guess the links on that post are broken because we switched blog formats since then.
I’m going to guess JB doesn’t feel like going back to fix them! Haha…
Atheist groups and blogs churn out lies. When the group goes private, they are no longer visible to the general public. That means, in order to see their lies, you’d have to join the group or follow the blog. I’m not at war with atheists. I’m at war with bad ideas.
It shouldn’t be a problem having your comments put on public display. The atheist outrage is telling. A thinking person would ask himself, “Why does it bother me to have John quoting me?”
A fool would just call me a troll and block me.
Got it….I can agree with that.
And thanks for the link to the older post, Amanda! I’ve always wanted to read the original debates, but wasn’t sure how to find them. 🙂
Oh, JB, you marvelous missionary of mischief, you. I love that you keep doing this, and that they keep responding so hilariously predictably. They make an claim filled with assumptions and derision. You ask them to explain their assumption. They use big words to dance around your question. You repeat your question. They use bigger words, dance further away, add insults. You repeat the question. They increase the insults, continue to dance, claim intellectual superiority. Lather, rinse, repeat. They dance in circles around your focused question without ever answering, then accuse you of circular arguments.
John, I’m afraid you give them too much credit by calling them idiots, when they clearly cannot even understand the concept of a circle.
But don’t stop. They may never get it. But someone else may. And in the meantime, I appreciate the laughs.
Missionary of Mischief.
Another T-Shirt idea!
I love that he doesn’t even quote WHOLE SENTENCES of yours anymore…
Seriously, I love it. 😂😂😂
Fragments of ideas are all he can handle. Whole sentences make me sound too reasonable.
Had to laugh at KIA’s about page. >>I really am quite Opinionated at times, but I’m mellowing with age and have acquired “a certain set of skills” for dealing with difficulty and differences of opinion.
Whereas I used to Chop People up with the “Sword”, now… I Listen to hear and understand and see if there is anything to learn and grow from.<<
I guess blocking people is his " “a certain set of skills” for dealing with difficulty and differences of opinion."
And yet he insists this isn’t comedy…
How dare you? Look at them now. A whole blog post and a comment section just on you and your…I don’t even know what you did. But you deserve this.
Also, I kind of like the use of “Solo-man”
Every atheist blog post is essentially like this one. They aren’t about me personally (unfortunately) but they never write about their own ideas. They just criticize other people’s ideas. And they do it so poorly it’s hilarious
I get it now. Trying to make atheists think is just as evil as blowing up a school bus, or would be if good and evil really existed. And here I was starting to think that atheism caused brain damage. Clearly it’s Christian terrorists like you and me who are in the wrong. I’m going to take my blog down immediately.
You should toddle over to KIA’s blog and ask him to explain what he believes. He is indignant when labeled an atheist and he is too smart to believe in the God of the Bible. Go ask him to explain his current theology. Go ahead! It’s hilarious! Take screen shots.
“Trying to make atheists think” is a misnomer.
